The average American household throws out around 20 pounds of trash every day. Every day. The average cat weighs about 10 pounds. So essentially, that is like every American household throwing out two cats in the trash every day. With 123 million households, and 365 days in the year, that comes to about 89.8 billion trash cats. Every year. That’s a lot of cats.
Okay, so maybe you’re saying that’s a ridiculous analogy, and what are you supposed to do about it anyway? Stop eating food from the market? Move off grid, plant potatoes, build a loom, and poop in an outhouse? That idea is not only unsustainable, it is also kinda gross, and let’s face it - it’s never gonna happen.
But that doesn’t mean there isn’t something we could do. Isn’t that the whole point of us and our big, wrinkly, human brains? We see problems, and we do things about them?
That’s where we come in. Here at Unpopular Market we are consistently inspired to try and do things. Good things. Trash-cat saving things. And when you support us, well wouldn’t you know it - that might be the start of you doing something too.
